Sarah and Dennis – HRD Solutions
Sarah and Dennis Roots have worked in partnership with many organisations, facilitating a range of leadership, teambuilding and management skills courses. These include Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) Accredited and Endorsed Programmes, Supervisory & Management Development Programmes, bespoke workshops (including Appraisals and Objective Setting in line with launching changes in an organisations policies & procedures) Outdoor Development activities, Train the Trainer courses, and Performance Management workshops. They also facilitate Insights ‘Discovery’ workshops, identified in an increasing number of organisations worldwide, as a powerful tool in self-development and team effectiveness programmes.
Generally ‘Management Development Programmes’ consists of six to ten workshops, designed to match the business needs and covering key skills in Leadership and Teambuilding, Dealing with Change, Handling People Issues, Handling Discipline and Grievance, Personal Effectiveness and Instructional Skills, backed up with course learning materials.
Sarah and Dennis have proven track records in all aspects of Human Resource Management, backed by a wide diversity of knowledge and skills. Their qualifications include MA in Human Resource Management, Advanced Trainers’ Instructional Techniques, Accredited Insights Associates, MCIPD by qualification, NVQ Assessors’ accreditation, and wide management experience gained in senior positions across a range of industries. They are passionate exponents of ‘experiential learning’, the combination of interactive workshops – where delegates learn whilst having fun, with supporting learning resources written in an ‘open learning’ style. Activities include group and syndicate discussion, case studies, business games and video resources. A further benefit of ‘experiential learning’ is that it encourages delegate interaction, self-confidence and the skills of networking in a safe environment.
They jointly formed HRD Solutions in 1999, however its success story by that time was already 15 years in the making, having been established within a company committed to employee development. This commitment and the positive results obtained gained recognition by way of the National Training Awards of 1993. As Leadership and Management Skills trainers, Sarah and Dennis were appointed Associates of EEF South in 1999 (an Employers Federation and leading training provider) and in 2004 HRD Solutions was approved in its own right, as an Accredited Centre for the ‘Institute of Leadership & Management’ (ILM). In March 2006 HRD Solutions became an Associate of ‘Insights Learning & Development’.
